Aim of the research: To investigate the role, the possibilities and the added value of occupational therapy with respect to work reintegration of labourless people in problem communities, in order to increase re-entering of the labour market.

Results: Results from the research showed that there is insufficient notice for the reduction or neutralization of health problems within the reintegration course. We hypothesize that the insufficient notice leads to a premature drop out from the labour market, which will lead to a recidivism for an entitlement to an unemployment benefit.

Conclusion: There can be concluded that there is insufficient notice paid to health problems of those that are entitled to an unemployment benefit. Reintegration experts who guide these courses appear to have insufficient knowledge about health problems. It can be concluded that occupational therapy has an added value within reintegration course, since occupational therapists are able to link cognitive and physical limitations to possibilities in the work area.
